In the first half of 2024, Turkey experienced a notable increase in foreign exchange earnings in its dried fruit exports, despite a decrease in quantity exported. The value of exports rose by 15% to $829 million, driven by a 30% increase in the export price per ton. The country leads in the production and export of seedless raisins, followed by dried apricots and figs, and also sees success with pistachio and pine nut exports. The government and industry are focusing on quality and food safety to meet importing countries' standards and aim to reach a $1.8 billion export target for the year. The USA has emerged as the second largest market, following Germany, with a 45% increase in exports to $88 million.
