The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) has forecasted a decrease in tree nut production and an increase in dried fruit production for the 2021-22 season. Tree nut production is expected to decrease by 8% from the previous year, but still surpass FY20 volumes, with high demand despite the Covid-19 pandemic. On the other hand, dried fruit production is anticipated to increase by 6%. The production of specific nuts such as almonds, pistachios, walnuts, and Brazil nuts is expected to decrease, while peanut production is expected to increase by 2%. The production of cashew, hazelnut, macadamia, and pine nuts is also expected to increase.
