The service "Moja Gazetka" in cooperation with Hiper-Com investigated how the prices of carbonated beverages changed in January in connection with the sugar tax entry on 1 January. The sugar levy consists of two parts - a fixed and a variable. The fixed part is 50 groszy for each liter of sweetened drink and an additional 10 groszy for each liter of drink with added taurine or caffeine. The variable portion is 5 grams for every 1 gram of sugar in a drink over 5 grams per 100 ml of drink. The fixed part in the amount of 50 gr / 1 l also applies to beverages sweetened with sweeteners.
