Dry whole milk production increased by almost a quarter in the first quarter

Whole milk powder (WMP) production in Russia increased by 24.1 percent in the first quarter (January-March of the current year) compared to the same period last year – reaching 20.7 thousand tons (in official data, sometimes solid units of measurement are used – ROSNG). These data were provided by the Milknews Analytical Center, referencing data from the Soyuzmoloko, Rosstat, and the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia. In precise figures, this is 400 tons more. Consumption increased by approximately the same amount – by 24.4% to 19.2 thousand tons. However, data on this is only available for January-February. A higher WMP production indicator in recent times was only observed in 2023 – 21.5 thousand tons. Indicators from 2020 to last year were also provided. Throughout this period, except for the last year, there was a positive trend in skim milk powder production. In 2020, 54.9 thousand tons of the product were produced.
