Despite regional variations, the price of durian in Vietnam remains high, with Ri6 and Thai durians priced at 142,000 VND/kg and 200,000 VND/kg respectively. Durian exports have significantly boosted Vietnam's fruit and vegetable export turnover, which saw a 102.6% increase in January 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. China is the main consumer of these exports, which account for 24% of the total turnover. With fresh durian exported to 24 markets and frozen durian to 23, the export value of durian is expected to rise further in 2024 if China agrees to officially import frozen durian.
