In January 2023, Ukraine imported 1.9 thousand tons of pork, a decrease of 3.5 times compared to the same period last year, with a total value of $3.9 million, one-third the amount of the previous year. The majority of the imports were from Denmark, the Netherlands, and Belgium. The increase in imports in January is attributed to the new quota countdown that allows for duty-free pork imports, making it cheaper than domestic pork.
