The Algerian State Confederation of Grain Services (OAIC) held a successful international tender for the purchase of bread wheat of arbitrary origin except for France, reported the online edition APK-Inform, citing its sources among market participants. However, there is again a discrepancy in the purchased quantity among different sources, with figures ranging from 500 thousand tons to 580 thousand tons up to 600 thousand tons. The wheat was purchased for $258.50 per ton C&F. For comparison – at the last tender for the import of soft wheat to Algeria, held 4 weeks ago, the delivery of between 500 thousand and 720 thousand tons was agreed at prices from $259 to $261 per ton C&F, but at the Tunisia tender 2 weeks ago, 100 thousand tons were purchased at $254.58 per ton C&F. The delivery of the grain to the ports of Algeria is planned for December or a month earlier if it is of South American or Australian origin.
