The National Scientific Center "Institute of Agrarian Economy" projects a 17.6% increase in the cost of a traditional Easter basket for a Ukrainian family of four in 2024, reaching UAH 1,422.05 from UAH 1,208.78 in the previous year. This rise is due to higher prices for ingredients like butter, milk, yeast, and raisins, despite a drop in the costs of eggs, sugar, and flour. Meat products, especially homemade sausage and ham, are the priciest, while dairy products, including hard cheese, butter, and soft cheese, have seen significant price increases. The overall hike is attributed to the economic effects of military actions, which have led to monetary and material losses, reduced production, increased energy prices, and distribution challenges within Ukraine.
