(Muan=Yonhap News) Reporter Hyeong Min-woo = Jeonnam Province announced on the 3rd that three local companies will supply eco-friendly meal ingredients to schools in the Gyeonggi region. According to the provincial government, the Honam Eco-Friendly Agricultural Products Logistics Center, Damyang Agricultural Cooperative, and Nature and Farmers were selected from Gyeonggi Province Agricultural and Fisheries Promotion Agency's "2026 Eco-Friendly Agricultural Products for School Meals Outside the Province Supplier Bid." The three selected companies plan to supply approximately 500 tons of eco-friendly agricultural products such as green onions, garlic, and potatoes annually to kindergartens and elementary, middle, and high schools in Gyeonggi Province from this year until February 2029. This bidding project will supply eco-friendly agricultural products to approximately 1.4 million students in kindergartens and elementary, middle, and high schools in Gyeonggi Province. Jeonnam Province has established a production and distribution base centered on expanding the eco-friendly certification area and linking with public meals. Kim Young-seok, Director of the Eco-Friendly Agriculture Division of Jeonnam Province, said, "Jeonnam's eco-friendly agricultural products are systematically managed from production to distribution to ensure that the future generation can eat healthy food with confidence," and added, "We will expand the link with the public meal market in major cities including Gyeonggi Province."
