Ecuador has increased phytosanitary inspections and established a quarantine zone for loading bananas in response to five banana exporting companies violating supply requirements to Russia. The country's relevant agency has also required fruit exporters to implement integrated pest control, train staff, clean containers, and label them for traceability. Ecuador has invited Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia's agricultural watchdog, to verify these measures and the two parties plan to agree on a Memorandum of Understanding on quarantine phytosanitary control at checkpoints, further strengthening their cooperation.
