Ecuador white shrimp prices in China continue to fall, with market demand weak and sluggish.

According to the latest quotations, CFR China (cost and freight, duty paid) prices for salt-frozen retail packaged white shrimp have fallen by $0.05 to $0.10 per kilogram. However, prices for individually quick-frozen (IQF) and large-packaged salt-frozen products have remained stable. Although most Ecuadorian exporters have lowered their prices for several consecutive weeks, some major companies—including industry leader Santa—chose to maintain their prices this week to stabilize the market. This has resulted in a narrower drop this week compared to previous weeks. However, market participants in China generally believe that there is still room for further price declines. The main wholesale market has seen a decrease in trading volume, indicating a low buyer sentiment. On the export side, in October 2025, Ecuador exported 50,722 tons of white shrimp to China, a 12% increase year-on-year; the average unit price was $4.90 per kilogram, up 4% from the same period last year.
