Ecuador's banana exports reached 306.64 million boxes by October 2024, slightly above the previous year, with the European Union and Russia being the primary markets. However, Russia's import of Ecuadorian bananas has decreased by 10.66 million boxes, leading to a price increase in the industry. Despite this, Ecuador has seen a 19% increase in exports to Russia. The country has also experienced a decline in production but has compensated by bringing new hectares into production, leading to increased exports to the United States and South Korea.
