Ecuador's rose export industry has seen a strong performance in 2023, with sales reaching US$ 773.3 million despite a slight drop in volume by 2.4% in the first seven months of 2024. However, a 1.4% increase in sales has led to a rise in prices due to climate challenges affecting production. From January to July 2024, rose exports generated revenue of US$ 450.6 million for Ecuador, with a significant 33.7% increase in revenue around Valentine's Day. The industry is notable for its direct exporting model, which allows small producers to control their own prices, and roses made up 74.3% of Ecuador's total flower exports last year.
