Another record of watermelon imports and a decrease in purchases of many fruits were the results of August 2022 in Ukraine

The last month of the summer of this year did not bring any special surprises in the foreign trade in vegetables and fruits in Ukraine. Thus, due to the occupation of the southern regions by Russian troops, the country continued to set new records for the import of watermelons. At the same time, the demand for imported fruits remained low, and purchases of many categories of such products were declining.

As a result, in mid-August, the average wholesale price for watermelons in the country was on average 12 times higher than last year!
