Brazil's egg consumption has seen a significant increase, reaching 251 eggs per year per person in 2021, up from 94 units in 2000. The country is on track to produce a record 56 billion eggs in 2021. In response to high production costs, the industry is looking to export more, with revenue increasing by 153% between January and June 2021. However, producers believe the domestic market will recover soon due to the resumption of in-person classes and work, and anticipate a decrease in the dollar and lower prices for corn and soy bran.
