Egypt is focusing on enhancing its table olive and olive oil production for export, despite challenges like political instability and economic issues. As the world's third-largest table olive exporter, Egypt produced 40,000 tons of olive oil in 2023/24, primarily for domestic use. Efforts are underway to boost exports through quality and sustainable practices, with a significant push to expand olive cultivation using high-density groves. The country produced 600,000 tons of table olives in 2023/24 and has planted millions of olive trees since 2015. The government is reducing bureaucracy to attract foreign investments and is encouraging the export of packaged olive oil products to compete globally.
