In 2022, Egypt saw a 200,000-ton increase in its fruit and vegetable exports, reaching a total of 6 million tons. The exports were led by citrus, potatoes, and onions. The country also experienced a 30% rise in frozen strawberry exports, amounting to $290 million in the first 10 months of 2022. The main importers of Egyptian products were the G7, ESCWA, EU member states, and BRICS. In particular, exports to the EU nearly doubled to $14.5 billion in 2021, compared to $7.7 billion in 2017.
