Egyptian lemon season approaching

The Egyptian citrus season opens in October with lemon. Growers are already harvesting and exporters are waiting for the official start of the citrus season by the Egyptian authorities. Mahmoud Esawy, export manager of Al Wessam Company for Agri Crops, said: “Our lemons are now being harvested, after which they will further color to be ready for export in October. The supply will be available from October to April. There is no change in the most commonly grown varieties; these are Eureka, Adialia and Verna." According to Esawy, this season's national lemon supply exceeds that of last season. "Last season, demand was very high, especially from African, East Asian and European markets.
