With the decision of the State Secretary, an end date is being added to the use of the emission factors of these low-emission barn floors. The end date for most floors is set for January 1, 2027, with five specific floors having a deadline of January 1, 2030. The barn systems whose emission factors are provided with an end date cannot be applied after that date to comply with the emission limit value. This can only occur if an authorization for a polluting activity is granted before that end date. For dairy farming, the barn systems with a deadline of up to January 1, 2030, can theoretically still be applied in new situations. The change has no effect on livestock farmers with barns with existing low-emission barn floors. They must continue to adhere to the applicable system description. In the case of major renovation of these barns, the respective barn floors may no longer be applied.
