A new set of environmental guidelines aimed at producers of free-range hens in the United Kingdom is being developed with the aim of organizing and simplifying access to sector rules. Developed by the industry in partnership with regulatory bodies, the document intends to offer more clarity on legal requirements and encourage more efficient use of resources on farms. The initiative was presented during a forum of the British Free Range Egg Producers Association (BFREPA), held at the British Pig and Poultry Fair, in Birmingham. The proposal is to create a single reference point, bringing together standards currently dispersed in different sources and which, according to the sector, make it difficult for producers to consult and make decisions.
