Espírito Santo, Brazil is experiencing a decline in milk production, leading some farmers to shift their focus to other crops such as soy, coffee, coconut, and papaya. This deficit is impacting the dairy industry, with a consumption of nearly 1.3 million liters of milk per day, which is significantly lower than the industry's capacity of over 1.9 million liters. In response, the state government is developing a support plan to boost producer productivity and milk production. This plan includes financial investments, priority for loans for milk producers starting from the next harvest, and a 10-year strategy to enhance dairy farming. The government also emphasizes that livestock farming is crucial for providing a consistent income for rural residents.
