The National Institute of Fisheries Science has joined forces with the private sector to strengthen disease management capabilities in the Atlantic salmon farming industry. The institute and EcoAquaFarm announced that they signed a "Memorandum of Understanding for the Exchange of Disease Management for Atlantic Salmon and Aquatic Organisms" on the 13th in the EcoAquaFarm conference room within the Busan Smart Aquaculture Cluster. This agreement aims to promote the development of the Atlantic salmon farming industry through the revitalization of the smart aquaculture cluster and disease management. The main contents include cooperation in research and technology development for diseases of aquatic organisms including Atlantic salmon, and regular sharing of academic information. The institute has focused on domestic Atlantic salmon disease research and the development of customized preventive vaccines since 2023.
