The European Union's soft wheat exports for the 2022/23 season increased by 11% to 28.40 million tonnes compared to the previous year, while barley exports saw a decrease of 13%. Maize imports surged by 61% due to a technical issue and the impact of last year's drought and increased grain influx from Ukraine. France remained the leading soft wheat exporter, and Spain led in maize imports. Meanwhile, EU soybean imports experienced a 12% decrease, but rapeseed imports rose by 40%. Soymeal and palm oil imports also saw a decrease of 4% and 22% respectively compared to the previous season.
