The European Union's soft wheat exports have decreased by 26% to 6.14 million metric tons since the start of the 2024/25 season, compared to the previous year. Barley exports have also decreased by 34% to 1.52 million tons. The leading EU soft wheat exporters are Romania, Lithuania, Bulgaria, and Latvia. Meanwhile, EU maize imports have increased by 13% to 5.17 million tons, and soft wheat imports have increased by 1% to 2.02 million tons. However, the European Commission has noted that grain export data for Italy, France, Bulgaria, and Ireland are incomplete.
