EU chicken meat prices hit historic highs

Chicken meat prices in the European Union have reached historic highs. This upward trend is due to strong domestic demand and favorable market conditions. The EU Agriculture Outlook (2024-2035) report forecasts that after a slight decline when the current inflationary context stabilizes, poultry prices will gradually rise to around €2,730 per tonne by 2035, driven by sustained EU demand and global price developments. In terms of production, the EU chicken meat market was valued at $22.7 billion in 2024, up 5% from the previous year. This growth trend is expected to continue and Poland is expected to remain the largest producer of chicken meat in the EU, accounting for more than 22% of total EU production in 2025.
