The European Union's soybean imports in the 2024/25 season have decreased by 20% to 1.21 million tonnes, while rapeseed imports have increased by 55% to 0.44 million tonnes compared to the previous season. Soybean meal imports have also risen by 13% to 2.24 million tonnes, but palm oil imports have decreased by 31% to 0.29 million tonnes. Meanwhile, the EU's soft wheat exports have decreased by 22% to 3.09 million tonnes and barley exports have decreased by 21% to 1.15 million tonnes. Maize imports have increased by 19% to 2.42 million tonnes and soft wheat imports have also increased by 5% to 714,454 tonnes. Romania is the leading wheat exporter to the EU with shipments of 1.26 million tonnes.
