EU wants to ban sachets of sugar in establishments

Salt and sugar in sachets are always available in restaurants, snack bars, whether to sweeten juice or coffee, or add a pinch of salt to some food. But, if it depends on the European Commission, the executive body of the European Union (EU), this “practicality” could end. The commission presented a proposal to prohibit the distribution of sachets of sugar in commercial establishments. We suggest that disposable packaging, such as sachets, tubes, trays and boxes, be expressly prohibited for the entire hospitality sector, restaurants and cafes. If the text is approved by the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament, the measure will be mandatory in all 27 member countries of the bloc.
