Europe is currently grappling with its worst bird flu outbreak to date, according to the German Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut, with the epidemic spreading across the continent from Finland to the Faroe Islands, Ireland, Russia, and Portugal. The outbreak, which started in October, has led to over 394 infections in wild birds and 46 poultry farms in Germany, and more than 675 wild animal infections and 534 poultry farms affected across Europe.
