The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture has released a report indicating a significant increase in the EU's citrus imports, specifically oranges, in the first two months of this year compared to the previous year and the five-year average. The total import volume was 76,843 tonnes, marking a 76.6% increase from 2022 and a 9.9% increase from the five-year average. The surge is primarily due to a 172.1% increase in imports from Egypt. Other key suppliers include South Africa, Egypt, Zimbabwe, and Argentina, with Morocco experiencing a significant decrease in its orange exports to the EU.
