Large operators will have to apply the Regulation from 30 December 2026, and small operators (private individuals and businesses with up to 50 employees and an annual turnover related to the relevant products of less than €10 million) from 30 June 2027. This additional time is intended to ensure a smooth transition and to allow time for the improvement of the IT system used by operators, traders and their representatives to submit electronic due diligence applications. The European Parliament has introduced a number of simplifications through amendments to the Regulation. In particular, micro and small primary operators will only have to submit a single simplified declaration, making it easier for businesses to comply with the law.
