Over the past two decades, the export of pork from the EU to China has surged, rising from over 58,000 tons to more than 3 million tons, a dramatic increase of approximately 5,400%. In 2010, China made up 5.5% of Europe's total pork exports, a figure that has now grown to over half (53.5%). The year 2020 saw the total exports of pork products reaching 5,973,123 tons. Frozen pork makes up the largest share (67%) of these exports, followed by organs (26.6%) and lard (4.7%).
