Düzce University in Turkey has developed a method to cultivate truffles, also known as the 'black diamond', by grafting them onto hazelnut trees. This method, developed by the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Research and Application Center, could provide additional income for hazelnut farmers. Preliminary studies have been initiated, and initial truffle samples collected from hazelnut orchards have been produced using biotechnological methods. The grafted truffles, if successful, could fetch thousands of Euros at European auctions, providing a valuable product for farmers and adding diversity to their fields.
