The Valencian Community is set to lead in the production of the new extra-late mandarin variety 'Kino', extending the marketing campaign for mandarins into late spring. This variety, developed by the University of California Riverside, is noted for its high quality, sweetness, juiciness, and easy peel texture. It is also productive, easy to handle, and resistant to cold treatment, making it suitable for export. The Valencian Association of Farmers (AVA-ASAJA) has agreed to provide its members with information and preferential access to this variety.
