Eurostat: European ice cream production increased by 2% in 2024

According to the latest data from Eurostat, in 2024, the volume of ice cream production in the European Union increased by 2% compared to the previous year, reaching 3.3 billion liters. According to the data, Germany remained the largest producer with 607 million liters, while France was second with 501 million liters and Italy third with 492 million liters. Spain (378 million liters) and Poland (298 million liters) rounded out the top five, according to the ESM. Among the leading countries, only Poland produced growth (29%), whereas France saw a 12% decrease, Italy a 7% decrease, Spain a 6% decrease, and Germany a 1% decrease. The production volume increased more significantly in Belgium (+35%), Bulgaria (+19%), and the Czech Republic (+15%). The EU exported 265.3 million kilograms of ice cream to non-EU countries in 2024, which is a 1% increase compared to 2023, while imports increased by 24% to 69.3 million kilograms.
