According to Eurostat, France is expected to continue leading as the largest beef producer in the EU in 2024, followed by Germany, Spain, and Ireland. However, a slight decrease in overall EU beef production is anticipated, with bovine animal production predicted to drop by 1% to 12.1 million head in the latter half of 2024. Sheep and goat production are also expected to decline by 7% and 9% respectively. Spain is projected to be the top producer of pigs, with an estimated 13.6 million in Q4 2024, and the largest producer of sheep with over 4.5 million head.
