Even in wartime conditions, Ukraine has sufficient production capacities to meet domestic demand for meat. UNIAN reports. Experts note that over the past 10 years, the level of self-sufficiency in the domestic pork market has not dropped below 86%, and since 2022, despite production cuts, it has not been lower than 90%. Although this year's external pork imports for the first 6 months are three times larger than the entire previous year, the share of imported pork in the total market capacity is still less than 5%. According to specialists, the demand of Ukrainian consumers is mainly satisfied by national producers. The war continues, so experts give restrained forecasts for the future: feed prices continue to rise, and personnel shortages at enterprises are intensifying due to labor deficits.
