In 2022, the Dutch pig export industry experienced a surge, with a 13% increase from the previous year, totaling 817,960 pigs exported. Germany continued to be the primary destination, accounting for 67.7% of total pork exports, despite a 50% drop in 2021. Spain emerged as the second-largest market, doubling its imports from the Netherlands, and Belgium, Poland, and Italy also increased their imports. This shift in export patterns indicates a recovery and growth in the Dutch pig export industry.
