The trend of rising bread prices will continue at least until the end of 2025, with monthly increases averaging 1 – 1.7% depending on the type of flour and final product. This is reported by Ukrinform. According to experts, if the current trend continues, the annual increase in prices for bakery products will range between 11 – 23% depending on the type of product. Under these conditions, by New Year's table, wheat bread made from the highest grade flour may increase in price by at least 8.5%. Wheat bread made from first grade flour may rise by 7%, and rye bread by 5.5%. The price of a half-kilogram loaf may increase by 5%. The increase, though not sharp, is gradual and steady, and it does not go unnoticed by the consumer from the poorest segments of the population. Grain harvest indicators in Ukraine have never been a key lever of influence on the price of bread, as only 20 – 25% of the total grain volume for domestic consumption is used.
