In 2023, China experienced a decrease in tea exports, with the volume dropping by 2.05% to 367,500 tons and the value decreasing by 16.38% to US$1.741 billion. The average price also fell by 14.63% to US$4.74/kg. Green tea made up the majority of exports at 84.2%, while oolong tea saw a 3.0% increase in export volume. In December 2023 alone, the export volume and value decreased by 4.67% and 30.90% respectively.
