In the first quarter of 2024, Ukraine experienced a notable 47% increase in its export revenue from fruits, berries, and nuts, totaling $87 million, with walnuts, frozen berries, fruits, apples, and pears leading the exports. Despite this surge, the country's overall agricultural food exports saw a 4% decline, amounting to $6.5 billion compared to the previous year. The Ukrainian Agricultural Export Association pointed out a rise in exports of value-added agricultural products but observed a decrease in dairy products and wheat flour exports, alongside dropping prices for eggs and honey. The EU remains the main market for Ukrainian agro-food products, though future trade liberalization could impose restrictions on certain exports. The association recommends market diversification, including African, Middle Eastern, and Southeast Asian countries, to counter potential export limitations.
