Morocco has seen a significant increase in its avocado exports for the 2023/24 season, with a record 56.7 thousand tons exported valued at $179 million, a 25% increase from the previous season. The first half of the season already saw nearly 42 thousand tons of avocados shipped, accounting for 73% of the previous year's export volume. Spain, France, and the Netherlands continue to be the main markets, receiving over 80% of the exports, but Morocco is also diversifying to other European markets and distant destinations such as Malaysia and Oman. The country has resumed shipments to Canada and Turkey, and Moroccan avocados reached 25 countries from July to December 2024, up from 19 the previous season.
