Vietnam has obtained permission from China to pilot import of passion fruit from July 1, marking a significant step for the country's agricultural sector. This comes as the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Vietnam is also working on finalizing an export protocol for durians to China. The pilot import will be restricted to specific areas with certain planting and packing codes, ensuring food safety and quality. This move is expected to boost the economic efficiency of farmers in Vietnam, particularly in the Central Highlands and northern mountainous provinces. The country is also taking measures to meet China's strict online inspection criteria for growing areas and packing facilities, following past issues with fruit exports.
