Brazil's fish farming sector has experienced a significant growth in exports in the first quarter of 2024, with a 20% increase in volume and 48% increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2023. The sector has seen a rapid expansion, shipping 2,085 tons and generating US$8.7 million in revenue. Tilapia is the leading export, making up 95% of the total, with the United States being the main destination for these exports. Other species such as tambaqui and cobia were also exported. Leading the exports, Paraná state is responsible for 81% of the total, followed by São Paulo and Bahia. This growth highlights Brazil's potential in the global farmed fish market.
