As it turns out last year, PIORiN organizational units issued a total of 59 470 phytosanitary certificates, including 56 561 phytosanitary certificates for export and 2 909 phytosanitary certificates for re-export. The issued documents were directed to plant protection organizations of 122 third countries, i.e. other than EU Member States. The number of phytosanitary certificates issued increased compared to 2018 by 14,901, i.e. 33%. - Before issuing each phytosanitary certificate, PIORiN inspectors carry out a phytosanitary inspection of the consignment. Depending on the type of exported goods and import phytosanitary requirements of the country of destination, the consignment is always subject to visual inspection, in addition it may be necessary to take samples for laboratory tests.
