Spain: Extension of the quality standard for the Dutch long cucumber deactivated

The Crisis Committee of the Interprofessional Organization of Fruits and Vegetables of Andalusia, HORTYFRUTA, has decided to deactivate the Extension of the Standard in terms of quality for the long Dutch-type cucumber, after analyzing its favorable evolution during the last few days and reversing the market situation that motivated the prohibition of the sale of second categories, applied since last November 27. Therefore, from 00:00 hours on December 11, 2024, all producer and marketing operators in Andalusia will be able to once again allocate the second categories of the long Dutch-type cucumber for fresh consumption. Based on the results, the member organizations of HORTYFRUTA consider that this type of measure is being a good tool to provide the value and quality that Andalusian fruit and vegetable products deserve.
