External prices for Brazilian chicken meat recover, but remain far from the maximum values

In 2021, the average price reached by the four main chicken meat items that make up the mix exported by Brazil has been registering a strong recovery compared to 2020 or even previous years. Even so, the most recent prices remain at a significant distance from the records already registered, one of which has been unbeatable for more than a decade, that is, since September 2008. Monthly data from SECEX/ME have shown, for this year, a significant appreciation of the four main items exported. Thus, although they registered the lowest annual growth rate, chicken cuts, with an increase of 12.52%, presented an appreciation considered expressive. The best, however, was the whole chicken – an increase of 28.56% – and, above all, with the processed and salted chicken meat – with increases of 36.01% and 32.86%, respectively.
