A resident in Vietnam successfully grew macadamia trees, a crop initially discovered in Dak Lak province, in Vu Quang district, and found it to be suitable for the local soil and climate. The trees require minimal care and can be intercropped with other fruit trees. The macadamia nut output market is stable with high prices. The district has collaborated with the Vietnam Macadamia Association to organize training and introduction about the macadamia market and technical process of planting and caring for the trees. A project to support the development of macadamia nuts has been issued, providing support for seedling prices. The district plans to support people to plant over 25 hectares of macadamia trees by the end of the year.
