Approximately 4,000 smallholder farmers in certain districts of Zimbabwe have been trained and empowered to add value to products such as chilli, roundnuts, and marula, in order to enter the export markets. This project, called SCOPE4IVC, has resulted in the development of rural micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises that contribute to provincial and national economic growth. The farmers have been organized into functional groups and have gained international certifications to demonstrate their commitment to good agricultural practices.
