Farmers' incomes under scrutiny. Their calculation must start to reflect reality.

I know that especially in such a difficult year in terms of production profitability, this statistical annual income is extremely important. And its level may raise doubts and questions – emphasized Minister of Agriculture Stefan Krajewski. It is about the average income per hectare in the agricultural holding, cyclically reported by the Central Statistical Office (GUS), which for 2024 is at the level of 5,429 PLN. Farmers – as we have often written – have been criticizing this indicator for years, which is used in various situations, e.g. by public institutions. Because achieving income at this level is almost impossible, and moreover, it creates a public image of farmers as wealthy, when the reality is completely different.
