Farmers see it as discriminatory that Granada is left out of the forgiveness of drought payments.

The Association of Irrigation Communities of Andalusia (Feragua) has denounced the abandonment and discrimination by the central government towards the irrigators of Granada, who have been excluded from the forgiveness of fees and other taxes despite having suffered water restrictions. Feragua has criticized in a statement that, although the irrigation communities of Granada have suffered "severe" restrictions during the past campaign, exceeding 50%, they will not benefit from the measures to reduce or eliminate the payment of fees. The organization has demanded from the central government equal treatment and justice for the farmers of the province and that it approve a new drought decree that extends the relief measures applied between 2021 and 2024 to the rest of the Spanish territory.
